Spybot is an excellant tool to disinfect your machine.
- Ad-Aware - Kill Adware
Ad-Aware is slightly less intuitive to use than Spybot.
- HijackThis - Stop Hijacking
Hijack provides more in depth information than either Spybot or Ad-Aware, but this comes at a price as its geared toward more tech savvy users.
It is always advisable to use more than one tool as one tool may not catch everything.
