The Buffalo Linkstation Pro Duo is a $200 1TB NAS that supports RAID 0 and RAID 1. It runs Linux and comes installed with Twonkymedia (DLNA media server), mt-daapd (iTunes media server), and RAID backup server.
I had grander plans for it; to run it as a 24-7 NAS, Media Server, and torrent client. There’s actually a very active community around NAS support since they mostly run Linux. Remember to BACKUP and try at your own risk!
- Get shell(telnet) access to NAS with acp commander
Link - Install Ipkg on the Linkstation
Link - Install all neccessary packages (Transmission did not work for me)
/>ipkg install rtorrent - Get a RSS feed reader
